I want to get a Sprint GTi, and race it in the HPI Challenge (lack of opposition = win!).

Does saddle pack batteries fit in it? i.e. 3x3 like in a Pro2?

it fits in a sprint so i guess so

but also lack of opposition= cancelled race

Don't the Sprint GTi's run against the sport cars in the Challenge, but score thier own points?

I'll have too check but I think that GTi's can only run Stick pack. . .the chassis doesn't have any holes for saddle packs.. .. ..im not sure if you could dremel some?!?

Dremeling holes would be illegal!

And the batteries wouldn't fit as the car isn't long enough.

Oh well, thats that idea gone..............unless I can pick up some cheap sticks. I will try to do the Challenge this year, between Schumacher BTCC commitments of course!

But I have seen that there are one or two ;) hop ups for these cars and I will definately be getting the lot because it has to be done. So would it be cheaper just to buy a manual and order all of the hop ups I can get, then order the HPI bits for the bit's I can't and build the model that way. Seems a waste of cash to buy a model, even if it is only a ton then replace all the bits with hop ups. I made this sort of mistake with a Super Nitro Rally. I bought the car for something like £280 then spend about a grand on hop ups. My mate then left it in his garage and it got nicked. The cars use Stick packs not saddle, I asked this question to the local hobby merchant.

I guess one could buy the SPRINT i-spec(comes with a carbon fibre chassis) from www.invector.nu.. and build it on from there...

If asked Maybe they could sell one for a special price with some other hop-ups on it: tie-rod set, universal driveshafts.. etc. who knows..?

Sprint GTi probably takes only stick packs, but Sprint EP and Sprint Rally take both saddle and stick packs.
