Looking for some replacement shocks for my rs4/3 type ss, they need to be threaded. I have seen a couple of replacements, hot bodies shocks and shock that come off the hpi proceed.

Any idea which is best or are there any other better alternatives?

any info appreciated

I've got the HPI threaded shocks on my car and have no complaints at all. If Steve Pond felt they were suitable for his 100mph Super Nitro then I'm sure they are good enough for me :). I'm running red progressive springs at the front and white progressive at the rear with 50wt and 40wt Schumacher oil respectively.

My personal view of the HB ones are that they are to fill the void between the lower priced standard shocks and the more expensive HPI threaded shocks. JMO.

If I were considering new shocks I would possibly get the Associated NTC3 threaded shocks.

I would also definately order these from Meganitro or Tower. £70 for a set of shocks .

You can also use the composite threaded shock bodies for the pro3. All you really need are the bodies and the adjustment collars. I have done this myself and have been really pleased with the results. Only cost $20.00 or so to do it.

Here you go

You don't need everything. Just the body and the collars. You can reuse all of your other parts. Install new O rings though.
