I'd say the pro 3, the sport 2 is probably close to being discontinued in the states, now that the sprint has appeared - it's already long gone in Europe and Asia.

The benefit of the sport 2 is the gear diffs, which are pretty fool-proof for beginners, it's reputedly tougher construction, and it's ability to run with higher ride heights than the pro 3, which is limited to about 8mm.

The pro 3 now has plenty of upgrades available.

Pro 3 wheelbase, out of the box, is 258mm (i think), a pretty standard length, but it's adjustable over a 5-10mm range.

It depends what you are looking for out of the car, the Sport 2 is perfect for playing around with on the street, but if you plan on racing it, then the Pro 3 would be the prefered choice :)

To start with, a standard steering servo is fine.

Motor choice really depends on how much you want to spend on a speed controller, and on whether you'll be racing.

If your club races stock class, then a stock motor is the obvious choice, and pretty much any speed controller will handle a stock.

If you're running mod, I think the new ROAR rules in the states suggest a 10-turn limit, but it depends on what your club runs.

But to run a modified that fast needs an expensive speed controller.

If you're just bashing, and you've already got used to handling a nitro cars speed (as suggested by your name), I think you may find a stock or a mild modified motor (around 17-turns) a bit on the slow side - see how much you can spend on a speed controller, and get the one with the lowest motor limit, then get a motor that's about one turn over that, just to be on the safe side.

Many Novak ESCs have no motor limit and are relatively inexpensive. The Dually is a good choice at around 100 bucks and the Atom is a good racing ESC which is available for somewhere in the realm of $160. (These are HobbyPeople's prices) www.hobbypeople.net is their site if you want to browse. So there ya go!

And for motors, I suggest Trinity's GEMS series.

If you are looking to purchase an ESC, you should go with an LRP QUANTUM COMPETITION. Choose from the Quantum line and decide which one suits your needs best.

The LRP Quantum Competition is exactly the same as th Nosram Dominator Power, LRP bought Nosram about a year ago now and have put their name on some of their products. One thing though, while the Quan Comp is stuck at a very high price, Newbold Models have the Nosram on special offer at the low low price of £105 :o I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.
